First "Run for the Hunger Project" great success
The first Run for the Hunger Project organised by NPM Capital took place on
4 November 2007. Teams from NPM Capital and its portfolio companies competed against each other with the ultimate goal of raising money for The Hunger Project. With spectacular results!

When the original organisers of the Run for the Hunger Project had to cancel the event NPM Capital stepped in and within two weeks had arranged for its teams to hold their own race. Fourteen teams gathered at “De Bosbaan” in Amsterdam, ready to compete for the title of “fittest NPM portfolio company”. Each team had six runners: two running 10 kilometres and four running 5 kilometres.

Kees van Keeken halfway his race
The weather was beautiful, and family, friends and colleagues lined the way as the 84 runners got under way. It was a very close finish, and in the end Van Oord was received the honour of being named the “Fittest NPM portfolio company" of 2007.

The ultimate winner was The Hunger Project. Each team paid an entrance fee to take part in the race and NPM Capital CEO, Jan Willem Baud, was able to announce that a very impressive total of € 20,000 had been raised for The Hunger Project. Based on the positive reactions all round it seems very likely that there will be a second Run for the Hunger Project in 2008. Start training now!
