History
NPM Capital was founded as the Nederlandse Participatie Maatschappij in 1948 on the initiative of Dutch banks. Its founding mission was to provide venture capital to the Dutch business community in order to support the post-war reconstruction.
NPM Capital has experienced strong growth since the 1980s in line with the general development of the venture capital and private equity market.
In order to realise independency and as and exit of our shareholder, we received a listing on the Dutch stock exchange in 1985. We were delisted in 2000 and are part of SHV Holdings since then.
Since the acquisition by SHV Holdings, NPM Capital has focused its investment policy on medium to large Dutch companies. This is partially why the number of investments has been reduced since then from approximately 170 to the current total of approximately 25.
Due to the growing internationalisation of the business, NPM Capital has gradually expanded its investment activities into the Benelux. We opened an office with a local investment team in Brussels in 2008.
